SureFire K2 Kroma
Flashlight Review*

Test Findings and Observations for SureFire K2 Kroma:

The red and blue LEDs produce a nice, wide, even flood of light. No rings or spotty coverage with this light. Low red is perfect for night navigation in familiar surroundings or close up reading while high red provides for a more distant flood for navigating unfamiliar areas. Blue does much of the same, although I personally find the blue to be too harsh and rarely use it.

Low white provides surprising throw for such a low output. Low white is NOT suitable for reading or close tasks as the TIR optic provides only a postage sized beam of ligth at very close distances. Beyond a few feet the revised TIR optic really shines....Literally. High white has what to me is an absolutely gorgeous beam comprised of a decent sized spot and corona and even some side spill. This is not the super tight TIR optic you may have seen in the past. Output is truly only about 50 lumens, so it is important to note that the SureFire Kroma is not a high powered performer.

Battery life on any of the low modes is fairly good. Battery life on high white is only about 90 regulated minutes, and once the battery becomes low enough to drop out of regulation the high beam simply shuts off. There is not real warning. You still have low power to work with so you are not left in the dark.

If you need a low light performer that sports multiple colors, the Kroma is an excellent albeit pricey performer. In true SureFire fashion, what it does it does very well.
