Streamlight ProTac HL Tactical Flashlight

Streamlight ProTac HL is a high brightness tactical flashlight with a 600 lumen output. This super-bright flashlight will shine a beam for 245m (803 ft) which is an amazing feat for a flashlight measuring only 5.25" long. In total the Streamlight ProTac HL has 3 output modes - high, low and strobe.

I have been an avid collector of flashlights for 17 years, and have collected a lot of Surefire brand for modification purposes. I have several other brands as well, but was very intrigued when I saw an advertisement for the new Streamlight ProTac HL. I have tried many of the XM-L dropins in various configurations and modifications and appreciate how well this particular LED performs. I was curious about the new Streamlight ProTac HL so I ordered one from Brightguy.com. I was only disappointed with the fact it would not run on a single 18650 cell, nor will it take rechargeable lithium ion cells of the 16340 variety, so I am stuck with the CR123's for power. Other than the battery issue I am totally impressed with the performance of this light. On high it has a great combination of throw and spill and is very bright, making it as good or actually better than any of the XM-L two cell lights I have tested. I like how quickly you can switch from the high setting to strobe and the low setting, and that you can change the modes very easily with the 10 tap programming. This is truly a quality built light with the right combination of features for an EDC, which includes the removeable pocket clip. It will also tail stand for those who appreciate that option. I only rated it a 4.5 on a 5 scale due to the battery limitations, which is not that big of deal, but would have made it a solid "5" if the option existed. I would recommend this flashlight whole heartedly.

After finally getting over my reluctance for CR123 battery power lights, I wanted a compact 600 lumen light. I love this light, I can light up my whole block and with the low setting save the batteries.

Just a quick note, the High setting is TOO bright to be used inside. This isn't a bad thing, it is a TRUE testament to ho BRIGHT this light really is.

Buy it, you will never want to travel without it!

I have owned many lights but I must say this little light is amazing. It is so powerful it will give you complete control over any dark area! I use my lights mainly for personal safety and home defense and could not recommend it more. And as always Brightguy does an outstanding job and ships the product quickly! Thanks guys!
