The New LED Technology Revolution
LEDs provide a number of benefits over incandescent lamps. Because LEDs run on low current and low voltages, LEDs convert electricity into light in a highly efficient manner. LED bulbs do not need to be replaced as they offer a lifetime of over 10,000 hours (approximate) continuous light. LED life varies considerably depending upon how they are powered and what voltage is used.
LEDs are solid state semiconductor diodes that emit light. Epoxy resin completely encapsulates the semiconductor, while simultaneously producing a lens to further focus the light.
Tough - as LEDs have no filaments or glass to break, they are extremely impact resistant. This makes them much more durable than other light sources.
Energy Efficient - LEDs require a fraction of the power to operate than traditional light sources. This makes LED bulbs much cheaper to operate, as less battery power is needed to produce usable light.
Dependable - Quality LEDs have a life span of over tens of thousands of hours and are very resistant to vibration and shock.
