The AquaSun has two high intensity white LEDs attached to a heat sink which is in direct contact with the water through the front lens. This patented system cools the LEDs and allows them to run almost twice as bright underwater. The white color of the LED light penetrates water better than light from conventional incandescent lamps which gives you more visibility underwater. Electronic circuitry monitors the LEDs to prevent overheating and gives you two brightness modes - full power or low power (battery saving mode). A unique reflector combines the beams from both LEDs into a single bright white beam. Even though LEDs are extremely energy efficient, they exceed the capacity of disposable alkaline batteries; for this reason
the Underwater Kinetics AquaSun must be powered by a rechargeable NiCad battery pack.After one hour of use the AquaSun eLED will be producing approximately 720 lumens of light underwater and 390 lumens in air.
