P. J. from Illinois gives it a 4.5 and says.. If you want a flashlight to carry in your trousers pocket, this is the one. I have all the flashlights of a similar size that are available and some that are no longer available -- this one is the best. The closest competitor is the Peak Solutions Matterhorn, but at $30 it is still inferior to the Fenix at $18.50. The Matterhorn has flats on the end around the bulb that are supposed to keep it from rolling, but they are so small and the flashlight is so small that they serve no practical function. Also the threads on the Matterhorn must be greased or it becomes very difficult to turn on and off.
They are both the same length; the Matterhorn has a slightly smaller diameter, which is an advantage, because even the slightest difference in size makes a difference in the pocket. The Fenix, however, is easier to operate, probably because the threads are coarser. My only complaint about the Fenix is that it becomes airlocked over time. The o-ring that keeps moisture out also keeps out air, and this makes the threads feel tight. Just unscrewing enough to break the air seal solves the problem easily enough.
