Our reviewers have given this an average rating of 4.67 out of 5.
  G. T. from MA gives it a 4.5 and says.. Another Great Product from Fenix, with the usual EXCELLENT SERVICE from Bright Guy. Some people complain that Fenix inflates their lumen ratings compared to other manufacturers such as SureFire. While this may be true, I use lights from both manufacturers, and I can say that the P3D is by far the brightest single LED light I have ever used. Even by conservative ratings, it MUST be at least 180 lumens. It is far brighter than my Novatac 120p, which I believe is accurately rated, and extremely bright. Its only limitation is that Turbo Mode has a 10 minute only suggested runtime due to heat build up. In real world use, however, this hardly counts. The high setting is easily bright enough for almost any task imaginable, and lasts for about 4 hours on one set of batteries.
The beam tint on my P3D is PERFECT. It is a neutral beam, similar to my Novatac 120p, and retains its perfect white color at all settings. This light is much less purple and more neutral than other lights I use, such as the old model Inova T1 and the SureFire Cree L1. (All of these lights work perfectly, however, and beam tint preference is subjective.)
User Interface is simple and natural. It takes almost no getting used to, and requires no programming skills, as does the Novatac 120p- yet with its available modes, retains much of the usability of the NovaTac. (But the Novatac is, of course, a much smaller single cell EDC light.) The low is actually low- not too much brighter than the 10 lumen low on my Surefire Cree L1. Medium is ideal for any task within the house, high will light up houses down the street, and Turbo will sear holes in solid steel. (Just kidding, but you have to see it to believe how bright it is!)
I even just used strobe mode out my window a second ago, to break up two cats fighting in my back yard- and I thought I had no use for this function!!
Beam shape is a perfectly smooth medium size hotspot, with smooth transition to a wide spill beam. NO RINGS ANYWHERE IN THE BEAM. This is important because artifacts in the beam can cause your eyes to play tricks on you- especially when night hiking, which is where much of my flashlight use comes in.
The fit and finish on this light are excellent. I purchased the olive green, and it looks beautiful. Nice mat finish. The walls on this light appear to be much thicker than my old Fenix L1T and L2T (Luxeon Versions.) I have had no problems with any Fenix light failures, but would say that this one would take more punishment than earlier models. (Of course, I didn't take it apart to check how the electronics are secured- but I have droped Fenix lights before, and never had a proplem.)
Thank You BRIGHT GUY for another GREAT PRODUCT and for more GREAT SERVICE!! I hope this review is helpful.

06/07/2008 G. W. from Louisville, KY gives it a 5 and says.. I have the non-premium version which puts out a few less lumens--hard to imagine anything brighter though. Can't say enough good things about this light. Out of the many dozens of flashlights I own, this is my "every day carry" (that's EDC to flashaholics). I love the multiple output levels, and they are so easy to access. 90% of the time the lowest level is completely adequate, but nice to know you could guide in a 747 if you had to. Has a very nice beam pattern with an intense hot spot and plenty of side-spill. I have used mine a at least a little almost everyday for many months and have never changed the batteries yet. The output is nicely regulated as there has been no perceptible decline in intensity. You won't be disappointed with this light. C. U. from Tri-Cities, Washington gives it a 4.5 and says.. One word: WOW!
We have a 60 foot long, 25 feet wide and high service bay here at work. I got my new light today and we tried it out. (No windows – nice ‘n’ dark in there) It blows away my Surefire L2, which is by no means a slouch for pumping out protons. Less then 5 minutes after playing with the new light, two of our shops employees were on Brightguy.com ordering theirs!
The most impressive thing was turbo mode hosing down a cabinet at the other end of the 60’ bay. The ‘throw’ is at least three times the Surefire, yet the P3D seems to have every bit as much side throw as the Surefire L2. (Either light has LOTS of side throw) We also had a standard Mini-Mag, which looks like a flickering candle next to the others. It puts out an astronomical amount of light for something even smaller than a Mini-Mag. In turbo mode, it’s every bit comparable to a 12 volt handheld corded spotlight that plugs into a cigarette lighter.
One guy here made the mistake of looking into it, and it was on general mode high power. (The 120 lumen level) He’s still seeing spots 15 minutes later! (Had it been in turbo mode, he’d probably be snow blind!) See All Reviews
