The Underwater Kinetics Light Cannon, unlike standard dive flashlights, does not use a conventional lamp with a glowing filament of tungsten for the light source. Instead, light is emitted from a very small glowing ball of ionized gas. As a result, the UK Light Cannon will give you 3 times as much light from a set of batteries and the light will be much whiter (6000 degrees Kelvin). The reflector is made of aluminum with a slightly textured surface to produce a beam without dark spots and voids. The beam width of the Light Cannon is 6 degrees. The High Intensity Discharge (HID) lamp produces a bright white beam that enables it to travel farther underwater with a beam color the same as sunlight. The Light Cannon body is made of tough ABS and the bezel is rubber coated. The flashlight can be operated in or out of water. The UK Light Cannon includes batteries, two wide angle lighting filters, and lanyard.
Note: HID lamps are more fragile than standard xenon and halogen lamps and much much more expensive. After activation the Light Cannon can take 15 seconds to achieve full brightness. The UK Light Cannon HID dive light should only be turned on after being off for more than three seconds.
