G. W. from Louisville, KY gives it a 5 and says.. One of the most clever, compact and useful little headlamps I've seen. It is VERY lightweight--great if you're backpacking and counting ounces. Don't be scared away by the coin cells--there is some steady dimming, but these babies last a surprisingly long time and lithium will work in extremely cold temperatures with a long shelf life. Since the batteries weigh next to nothing you can easily carry spares. If you need to see what's a hundred feet down the trail, don't count on this light, but it's great for around the camp or in the tent. The red LED (not found on most headlamps at any price) is great for astronomy work (required for star gazing parties) and preserving night vision. The rotating switch is easy to use and has an OFF position at either end (as well as in the middle), so you can go directly from off to red, without going by the white. Also comes with a handy plastic carrying case you can attach to your belt. Other nifty features include a clip for attaching to a hat brim, and it can be rotated so the switch and LEDs are protected for storage. Hint: I put a piece of scotch tape over the LEDs to act as a diffuser which really helps with close-up work. Highly recommended!
