The Class 1 Div 1 Koehler-Bright Star Responder can be powered by either a 4.8 Volt NiCad rechargeable battery pack (included) or four C-cell alkaline batteries. With the rechargeable battery pack you get 5 hours of continuous light at 30,000 CP. If the battery goes dead and you don't have time to recharge just remove the NiCad battery pack and replace with four Alkaline C cell batteries. The C cell batteries give you 5 hours of light at 45,000 CP.

The Responder recharges in 2 hours and will not overcharge. If you forget to replace the alkaline batteries with the NiCad pack when you put the light in its charger.... don't worry. The charger has been designed not to recharge if alkaline batteries are in the light. The Responder is pre-focused and an oversized push button switch allows for easy one hand operation even with gloves. Safety rated Class 1, Division 1*.
