B. W. from New Mexico gives it a 4 and says.. I have been lucky enough to use 3 H.I.D lights at work over the last 3 years. Of the three, the new Lightbox H.I.D. is in many ways the most impressive. It is a large light, but that largeness gives it the solid feel of a serious tool... not a novelty gadget. The light is made by Streamlight using a proven and time tested design. This light just cranks up the output several notches. Just for fun, I bought a "2 million candlepower" spotlight at a big box store. The Lightbox only claims 1 million candle power, but it is at least 3x brighter than the spotlight. This light competes well with H.I.D. lights costing 4+ times as much in lighting things up at a distance. I also like that the light includes a broad diffuser for close up work. With the diffuser on, and the light's articulating head, it can be used to light up a wall (or side of a house or building for that matter) for painting or other construction type of work. The tight spot beam will cut through smoke, rain or fog much better than most other lights I have used. I guess that's one advantage of being built to be used by fireman. If you need a serious lighting tool, not a toy, I highly recommend the H.I.D. lightbox. It has performed well beyond my expectations for what any light can do.
Sincerely,
Brad Wood
