This is a great all-around handheld torch. It has a very bright flood pattern, with a hotspot in the middle. It projects far enough out to be useful even when you need more of a spot-patter light. There's only one drawback so far: The black paint is very cheap. It comes off on your hand with bug spray. I finished cleaning it off of mine, and now mine is just yellow. The black one probably won't have this issue. D.

I had a running race this past weekend and LOVED the Streamlight 4AA with 7 white leds. The race was held at night so the light did a good job illuminating the trail and lasting the twelve hours of darknessl. It was wide enough and penetrated far enough in the distance. f.

I have over 100 flashlights and this is one of my favorites. I did not appreciate its beauty when it first arrived, but now it is one of the first ones that I reach for when I need a flashlight around the house. This is a very practical light with a very long runtime. In an emergency it is the second flashlight into my "go" bag. Everyone should have one of these around the house and in the car.
