Streamlight Sidewinder Tactical Model has a bright white C4 LED plus red, blue and green LEDs. Each LED has 4 brightness levels plus strobe. The Streamlight Sidewinder runs on 2 AA alkaline batteries and is lithium AA compatible. Streamlight Sidewinder has a spring steel clip for easy attachment to belt, backpack loop or MOLLE. The clip can be mounted on either side of the Sidewinder.

I have had two defective Sidewinders before finally getting one that has continued to work correctly. The company technician admitted that there was a flaw in the logic board that caused failures. When the light failed one had to "re-boot" the control board by removing and reinserting the batteries. The first two Sidewinders came with a "limited lifetime warranty". The one I have now had only a six month warranty, which should be a warning. As such, I would not recommend the Sidewinder for mission-critical situations where failure would be an impact on success.

The Sidewinder is by far the best newly devised LED equipped personal light/beacon I have yet to use. It is compact and durable and the beam array in all colors is ideal for close work. If this light is not already issue equipment, it ought to be.
