A flashlight that carries an Intrinsically Safe rating is approved for use in hazardous working conditions where the hazard is likely to occur under normal operating conditions. Various hazardous materials are divided by Class as follows: Class I is flammable gasses, vapors or liquids; Class II is combustible dusts; Class III is ignitable fibers and flyings.
